Toyota revealed the photos of a new Toyota Tundra TRD Pro. This will be the first generation change since 2007, so everyone has been looking forward to it. In 2014 there was only some slight redesign, so this time Toyota is striving for some significant changes. It is clear that the new generation of Toyota will be bigger, more modern and aggressive, and more powerful. There are distinct lights at the front and amber running lights along the grille, there are also headlamps and several LED light sources, including orange parking lights in the front and rear. As noted by The Drive, such lights are mandatorily installed on cars that are 80 inches or wider. Obviously, the dimensions of the new TundraTRD Pro will exceed this figure.
Toyota is expected to replace the old V8 with 381 hp with a twin-turbocharged V6 that will generate 400 hp and have 479 lb-ft of torque. It will go together with a 10-band automatic transmission. It is likely that a hybrid will also be available.
A 4-wheel drive will be available. The off-roading capabilities of the truck and its suspension will be not worse than in the previous TRD Pro models. It is possible that Toyota will offer an independent rear suspension. It is predicted that the manufacturer will offer free maintenance for the first 25 000 miles or two years.
Even though Toyota managed to keep the interior a secret but the new Toyota Tundra will likely have a 12-inch touchscreen of its infotainment system mounted horizontally in the middle of the dashboard. There is also a red line on the steering wheel, big windshield grab handles to climb inside the car, JBL speakers, and a high-quality navigation system. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are likely to be standard.
As far as safety features, the new truck will most likely have all the latest driver-assist technologies, such as road sign assist, automatic high-beams, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, and emergency braking with pedestrian detection.
The wheels on the new truck will be 18-inch with Falken Wildtrak all-terrain tires.
The official debut of the new truck is expected to happen within a few months, and you will be able to buy a vehicle by the end of the year. The price for the 2022 Toyota Tundra Pro is not revealed but it is likely to start with $36 000 (considering the outgoing model cost $35 000). The vehicle with trims will be around $55 000.
