Ford announced the production of 3500 items of the limited trim Bronco First Edition, which were claimed within days. So, the famous manufacturer didn’t stop there and decided to double the production up to 7000 items which have already been claimed as well. In this article, we will try to find out why this Ford SUV is so popular and in such great demand.
The First Edition Bronco is based on the Wildtrak trim but with a price increase of over $10 000. The First Edition Broncos will be sold for $60 800. The SUV has many standard features of Wildtrak and additional specific graphics on the body sides and the hood.
Ford Bronco First Edition will be available in four and two-door models. The modular body will allow removing the panels if needed for modification or repair. Of course, the roof can be removed too. The vehicle has a manual swing-gate with a 150-degree swing. There are LED signature lights as well as configurable daytime running lamps (DRL). Another little feature is four tow hooks — two rear and two front.
Looking at the interior, Ford Bronco First Edition has many interesting features. The leather steering wheel is heated. There are cruise and auto controls on the steering wheel, and the Bronco badge. There is an 8-inch color LCD instrument panel which is located in the gauge cluster. There is a wireless charging pad suitable for big phones. Ford offers a lane-keeping system and pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking. There is also a hill start assist and electric parking brake. There are seven goat modes and a terrain management system. The floor mats are carpeted both in the first row and second row (for 4-doors models).
The vehicle is convenient for passengers and a driver. There are two 12V powerpoints — one on the front center floor control and another in the cargo area. There are also plenty of USB ports — at the front row, at the second row, and on the dashboard. The entertainment system includes a B&O Sound System by Bang & Olufsen. There is a 12-inch LCD touchscreen with enhanced voice recognition. The infotainment system works both with Android Auto and Apple Carplay.
The leather-trimmed front seats are heated. In the 4-door version, the second row has a 60/40 split, and in the 2-door version — a 50/50 split. The truck has a 360-degree camera and rearview camera, which is very helpful.
The interesting thing about this vehicle is that Ford will offer a manual transmission. In this case, you will use a 2.3-liter engine with 270 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque. The automatic transmission is 10-speed. The engine with automatic transmission is a turbocharged 2.7-liter V6 with 310 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque.
The stick shift comes as part of the Sasquatch package. With this package, you will get 35-inch tires with 17-inch Beadlock capable wheels. Ford offers a HOSS suspension system on this vehicle.
The safety features of the Ford Bronco First Edition include a safety side-curtain for both front and rear seats, LATCH tether anchors for kids, and an individual tire pressure monitoring system. As an additional option, you can get a keyless-entry keypad.
Talking about the price, the four-door model will cost $64 995, and the two-door model will be $60 800. It does sound expensive. However, since Ford Bronco First Edition is the direct competitor of Jeep Wrangler it is good for the customers because when the companies come into direct competition with each other, the customers always win.
