Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Xtreme Recon Package was created as a competition to the Ford Bronco Sasquatch package. It was revealed at Chicago Auto Show. It looks like the most extreme package for Jeep so far. The new package from Jeep includes 4.56:1 final-drive gears, 17-inch Beadlock-capable wheels, and 35-inch tires. The tires are BF Goodrich KO2. The Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon is given a suspension lift of 1.5 inches. Rubicon 392 will have a 2-inch suspension lift. You will be able to purchase the package later this year and it will cost $3995. One more upgrade is the new cloth Sunrider Flip Top which you will be able to get for $895. You can put the top over the front row.
Rubicon Xtreme Recon Package is created for Rubicon 392 and 4-doors Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. Let’s compare the Ford Bronco Sasquatch package and Jeep Xtreme Recon package. The ground clearance on Bronco is 11.5, Jeep’s new package will have 12.9 inches. The approach angle on Bronco is 43.2, on Rubicon – 47.4. The break-over is 26.7, while Bronco has a similar 26.3. The departure angle on Bronco is 37.0, on Jeep Rubicon – 40.7. Jeep claims that the package will have the best in its class water fording capability and ground clearance.
The cost of the four-door Wrangler Rubicon is $44 295. The price of the Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited equipped with this package will be more than $60 000, and Rubicon 392 – over $80 000. Comparing to Ford Bronco, the Sasquatch package is more widely available for different models, not just the upper trims. The price of the Sasquatch package depends on the trim. For Badlands, it costs $2495, for Outer Banks – $4200, for Black Diamond – $4495, for the Base and Big Bend it is $4995. The First Edition and Wildtrack Broncos will get this package as standard.
The production of the package will start in August for the 2022 model year.
